Motorsport UK

As well as the organiser and promoter of the UK’s premier rally, Motorsport UK is the national membership organisation and governing body for all four-wheel motorsport in the UK, representing competitors, volunteers, clubs and fans.

As a member focused organisation we embrace a diverse community that includes 720 affiliated motor clubs, over 30,000 competition licence holders, 10,000 volunteer marshals, 4,000 officials and a legion of passionate motorsport spectators and fans.

We issue over 5,000 event permits every year providing everyone with the opportunity to get close to the action. Motorsport UK is a not-for-profit organisation (limited by guarantee) that exists to service and grow the sport and is a founding member of the world governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).

The late British stars such as Elfyn Evans, Kris Meeke, Colin McRae and Richard Burns became stars in the World Rally Championship, but that’s only the tip of an iceberg, because in the UK alone rallying is enjoyed by thousands of competitors across dozens of championships and events.

All of the British WRC stars all cut their teeth in national Special Stage rallying, which is probably the best-known branch of the discipline but navigational events on the public highway, known as Road Rallies, have a long and successful history and are easily accessible to anyone with a road car and driving licence.

Alternatively, you don’t have to get into a car to enjoy rallying. Events such as Rally UK, national and local events all rely on an army of volunteers from marshals, timekeepers, stage commanders and rescue and recovery. A welcoming a friendly family are always looking for new members to make a difference to events, and to top it off, you normally have some of the best seats in the house!
